Medium bowl glazed with my iron glaze on the inside and my green malachite glaze on the outside. This piece was fired twice in the kiln. After the first firing, the iron glaze developed red and brown tones, while the malachite glaze remained green. Before the second firing, I brushed a layer of pure iron oxide over the exterior, creating the black streaks that sit on top of the existing green malachite crackle glaze. During the second firing, the iron glaze transformed from its red-brown shades into deep blue and purple hues. Inside the bowl, you can still see remnants of the first firing—a soft blush of red beneath the final colors.
Dimensions: 5" × 7" × 7".
