Medium bowl glazed with my new iron glaze on the inside and my green malachite glaze on the outside, partially extending down the interior. This piece was fired twice in the kiln. After the first firing, the bowl showed green malachite on the exterior and iron glaze inside, with hints of yellow where the malachite overlapped the iron. For the second firing, I brushed a layer of pure iron oxide on the exterior and a small amount on the rim, creating the black streaks visible on the bowl. The second firing also caused the malachite glaze on the inside to flow further down, forming larger yellow icicle-like drips toward the bottom.
