This bowl is glazed with my golden yellow original recipe, the golden-yellow surface is created using iron that I personally collect and prosses from southern Utah.
The clay body is a 50/50 blend of stoneware and porcelain. The piece was wheel-thrown on an electric wheel and trimmed using turning tools. After trimming, it was allowed to dry slowly for up to 10 weeks Once dry, I applied my black crackle slip. As the slip dry’s, it shrinks and creates the crackled surface pattern. before being bisque fired to 1728°F. It was then glazed and glaze-fired to 2232°F.
The black crackle slip is created by adding the same wild-collected iron to my base crackle slip recipe, giving it its deep, dark color.
Dimensions: 2 inches tall, 6.25-inch rim. (dimensions are approximate)
